This featured project highlights our comprehensive services in earthwork, drainage, and new foundation construction.
We recently completed a job preparing and pouring the foundation for a new addition to an existing home. We began by excavating and cleaning out the footer trenches, as well as setting grades to ensure a level, stable base. Our team then installed rebar and poured concrete footers, reinforcing the perimeter to give the structure long-term strength.
Once the footers cured, we poured a 4” concrete slab over a vapor barrier, which prevents moisture intrusion, an essential element when tying into an existing home. On-site, we also spread #57 stone to create a stable subgrade and ensure proper drainage under the slab.
Our crew stayed busy throughout the phases of the job, including mobilization, equipment setup, and form stripping. With the slab in place, we turned our attention to drainage solutions. We installed an outlet pipe and gravel for the foundation drain, back downspout, and later connected the front downspout to complete the system. Drainage is one of the most important steps in preventing erosion and future foundation problems. We finished by hauling off 4.8 tons of rock and debris, ensuring a clean and safe site.
Our final step was fine grading and erosion control. We dressed up the site, applied seed and straw, and stabilized the yard for long-term success.
