As the spring season brings warmer days and steady rains across Central Virginia, it’s the perfect time to take a closer look at how water moves around your property. At Reynolds Contracting, we offer comprehensive drainage solutions and other earthwork services to improve your home and protect your investment. On this recent project, we combined precision excavating and pipework into one seamless solution designed to protect the foundation from water damage and improve long-term drainage around the base of the house.
We began by carefully excavating along the home’s perimeter, installing new PVC pipes to collect and redirect water from downspouts and surface-level problem areas. By tying multiple drainage points into a unified system, we ensured that water is carried safely away from the structure, helping prevent erosion, settlement, and moisture issues that can develop over time.
At the same time, we addressed failing concrete and surface drainage. The existing sidewalk was removed and replaced with a properly graded base and reinforced concrete, sloped intentionally to move water away from the foundation. A channel drain system was installed along the porch area to catch surface runoff before it could collect near entry points. Beneath it all, a stone base and carefully compacted subgrade provide stability and longevity..
This clean, functional space not only looks great but performs exactly as it should, especially during those heavy spring showers we all know too well.
At Reynolds Contracting, we take pride in being one of Central Virginia’s leading earthwork contractors. Projects like this highlight how thoughtful planning and expert installation can come together to create lasting results.
